So, there's all these "Social networking" websites supposedly dedicated to connecting people across the world or across the street. Sadly enough the latter is FAR more often true than the former, and most of folk just use it as a way of having a captive audience to their "drama" and ego boosting about their various societal accomplishments.
That said, I am afraid I am a Facebook member, why? I don't really know outside of my wife telling me I had to. I do find it kinda convenient at times, that I can simply check up on my friends "Status" and see if they are busy, wanting to hang out, drunk, angry, just broke up with their "BFF" or whatever is goin' on with them. That's another thing, laziness has become epidemic since the advent of Social Networking and text messaging, I mean what the hell is TBH IRL, or BFF4L, spell a word you lazy moron.
Moving on, Facebook and Twitter is where it's at like AIM was it in the mid '90s. Myspace was the father of it all, but that as always in technology and internet means nothing at all. I do find myself on my iPhone at 3am looking at a recap of what my friends have done with themselves, and I do see some good in it, but I'm afraid they are just furtherments in the ways of digital loss of connection. Now I'm not a 75 year with his cane yelling about you damn kids, and I believe that cell phones and social networking has allowed people to connect and more often than may have before, simply from ease of access, but everything has consequences. Everything.
